Notes

New pattern from Pipibird.
I enjoy knitting it.
04.01.11:
Last week I moved into my new Igloo.
It’s lovely inside it, I will stay for quite a while!
And the architecture… I really do feel at home.

Thank you Heidi!!

As to the construction of this garment:
I didn’t change a stitch. The only thing I changed was the needle size of the smaller needles.
But if one has to change something (for women who are between sizes for example) it is very easily adapted to your bodyform. That’s the beauty of it!

The Lang Yarn is a good substitute for the Rowan Lima, I believe. I loved knitting with it and I do love wearing it. But if you want to use it too, please do yourself the favour and make a gauge swatch. Even if you usually don’t. This yarn stretches out quite a bit after the first washing. And this bit might make the difference between a tunic or a dress, whatever you intend to knit. I don’t see this as a disadvantage just something you have to take into account.

Update 11/2011: This dress is one of my favourites in my wardrobe. I wear it so often! While knitting it I was sure the wool would be prone to pill or felt - but no! It even holds it shape quite well. I have to wash it once in a while; after that it always bounces back to its original dimensions.
