Want to try and do this poncho thingie in knitting instead of crochet. Will knit a garter stitch rectangle according to the schematics in the crochet pattern.
Will need to cast on enough to give me app. 68 cm length, i.e. with a gauge of 20 stitches to 10 cm this will be 136 stitches - let’s make it 140 for a round number.
Will then knit 48 cm before
casting off 20 cm worth of stitches, i.e. 40 stitches - might do a little less as I do not like deep necklines.
40 cm straight, then adding the stitches in again for the other half,
48 cm knitting again, binding off.
Then cuffs and arms.
We will see how far I will get with the Fiesta leftovers, might have to use Nord held doubled for that.

Switched from garter stitch to broken seed stitch (alternating knit rows with k1, p1) to get a looser fabric.
Started blending in the second color in the k1, p1 rows.

Decided to take a break from this - the relatively thick needles seem to cause some issues with my elbow, so I will switch to my Lysande sweater.

Used up all the partial balls and started a blue stripe.
I am not sure how I will continue the striping yet, for now, I just knit each ball until I ran out of yarn. I have none of the green left, 1 ball each of yellow and pink and about 2 balls each of the light grey, the blue and the dark grey.

Counted my edge stitches - I am at 40 edge stitches and I need to get to 75-ish.

Finished main body, closed side seams and shoulder with single crochet/ 3 needle bind off.
Picked up 64 stitches for sleeve, using Nord held doubled and using a 4 mm needle, doing 1-by 1 ribbing

Ran out of 2 balls of Nord held doubled when working the neck ribbing. Added another ball of the blue, working with one outside and one inside strand. I am wondering if this will be enough for the neckline…

Finished knitting! Added a little “ribbing” on the botton and also added some garter ridges next to it. Forgot a tiny part at what I plan to wear as the back, so not a big deal I hope.
Definitely very warm, so I am glad that I finished it in March so I might still get some wear out of it this spring
You can see quite well that I accidently added some “design features” where I did broken rib instead of seed stitch - but I decided that just adds to the charm ;-)
Now off to washing and “blocking” (will just let it dry flat..)
