I eyed this pattern for a while now, but since middle of may 2024, the fox came twice to my family’s hen house and stole nearly all the hens they had, only one survived. So I decided my first version from this pattern will be a gift to them with the hope that the fox will not come again (second time was in plain daylight!!!)

Ok, maybe I should have looked at the Youtube tutorial » before sewing in the waddle and the comb, as she tells you to add the eyes before when it is still more open - I kind of closed the head when finishing of the beak, but I thing I will still be fine.

Now I first have to complete knitting the middle section.

Okay, so my gauge is kind of loose - for the next one, I will definitely use thinner needles, The stuffing shines through and it is kind of huuuuuge… But I love her! I think she will live in my bed as a pillow. Really cute pattern! It took me a while to figure out how to sew this together without the seam showing, so the neck is kind of ugly - but this only adds to her personality! Her name is Hunate (made from the name Renate, Huhn (the German word for chicken) and Renard, the French word for fox.

As stuffing, I used the inside of an Ikea pillow  »
