ETA : There is a very nice story to this little
dress: A colleague was exspecting a little boy, so they thought…. He was to be named Theo, everything was prepared for the little guy…. Well, when his wife gave birth it turned out that little Theo was NOT a boy but a Girl! So I gave this to little Greta and her parents really liked it.

Read in Strickfisch’s blog that there is a design competition at the DIY website Talu.de - if you read this before Nov 1st 2017, you could still join - though I doubt they will ship the yarn outside Germany.

The nice people at Talu sent me a beautiful parcel with all girly colourways of Rico Cotton Soft and some notions. The task is to design something for a little one.

I am very happy that these are all baby girl colours, as there have been only little boys in my life recently and I will really enjoy knitting something for a girl for a change.

I am currently thinking about some kind of T-shirt or Tunic. Something that “grows” with the child, that can be worn as a dress by the infant and as a T-shirt or sweater vest by the toddler - will keep you informed!

Well, that was quicker than expected!

Knitted until the whole thing was app. 29 cm long, then dublicate stitched the little hearts on the upper body and the bigger heart on the hem.

First time I did dublicate stitch to that extend. I used this tutorial and this chart and really like the outcome.

To finish off the top, I did single crochet around the neck in white and added the button loops. That could be a little tidier, but is ok.

Quite like the yarn, for a cotton yarn, it is not at all splitty and nice to work with.
