I received some very nice darkgreen camel/silk from somebody’s stash. Not enough for this pattern, so I am adding some other green yarns from stash.
From the same stash I also got some unknown pink yarn. It feels a bit scrunchy, it has probably some silk in it too.
For the contrast colour I bought WlkCollection merino/silk as a souvenir in Koln. This will be a luxurious shawl!

Finished clue 1 without any problems, just started a bit later, so at my own pace.
Clue 2 is easy. I must have been distracted on holiday, and so I managed to make a mistake in the number of rows to be knit in the wedges. I will frog and start over this part.
I did not have a darning needle with me on holiday, so this was a good opportunity to try out grafting on the needle.

I switched MC and CC in clue 2. I really like my teal, but it is very dark. And I only have about 70 grams of it. I have another dark teal that can work, but it is a standard sock yarn, so no silk in it…
I ordered an extra skein of my contrast color, aptly named ‘zen’. It’s a nice cool gray with some yellow and gold undertones. So now my shawl will be more gray then teal, very Zen…
I did 2 different colors for the twisted rib sections. It looks more cohesive to me, with colors repeating through the different parts.

Clue 2 did not advance as quickly as I thought It would. I experimented with the Russian purl, that slowed me down.
I now have to decide in what color I will do the cables. Pink would be nice, but I don’t think teal embellishments would work. Pink and gray embellishments is probably not enough contrast. Gray cables?

I have never worn this shawl the last year, although I love the yarn and the colors. It’s just too big with the ‘wings’. So I decided to frog these, while watching the first video of the Stephen West 2023 MKAL…
I now have a smaller, more wearable shawl without wings.
