Yum!YUM! HandSPUN! I’ve been looking to make this cowl with some yummy handspun I picked up at Urban Fauna Studio. I needed something to compliment it and I fond a wonderful complimentary skein from Rain City Fiber Arts! The thing is, I have a lot more of the Rain City than I do the raveling Rhinos. Also, one is quite thinner than the other. Lets hope I have enough of both to finish this cowl… it should be interesting…

So I made it about a quarter of the way and there was NO WAY I had enough yarn, especially of the travelig rhinos. The pattern, as is, makes three panels of chevrons. I decided to just make two panels. Also, make two rows of the Rain City and one of the rhinos to highlight the texture between the two and also to conserve yarn.

I can’t believe how quickly this worked up and I managed to do the Kitchener stitch right (the second time… ;)) Overall, I love how it turned out and I think I’m going to be using it quite a bit this fall and winter!

So I’ve been wearing this like CRAZY!! I love it to ride my bike. To dress up simple tops. Because of the colors, it goes pretty much with everything! The best thing though is that it REALLY shows off the hand spun. I’ve received more compliments on this than anything else because the handspun is so hypnotizing… I can’t wait to make my next one. :D
