I love this idea of buddy owl pillows in knit and crochet! :) It also gets me off of my fear of DPNs.

It’s been so hard not to reveal this project, because I LOVED working on it, but I wanted to show BOTH the knitted and crocheted owl together, not to show any favorites or reveal who was finished first. As if with both crafts, I love both owls! They each have their own personality and still are so adorable!

Now, I made both of these pillows a bit bigger than the original pattern. I just cast on extra stitches on the knitted and added extra rounds to the crochet one. Also, in the crocheted owl, I made the stiches half double crochets, just to highlight the crochet stitches and have it still be tight enough for a pillow. I also made the beaks in knitting and crochet.

Finally, instead of the bean bag at the bottom, I added a foam core (the kind you can get to make your chair cushions). This helped stabilize the owl and helped with the shaping, especially when it comes to the pointy ears…
