I made this to go with the scarf monkey hat.

I had not made mitts before and this pattern was very easy. I knit two at a time. I did make a few changes to it. I made the ribbing k1 p1 (to go with the scarf) and the thumbs had holes where the stitches were picked up which really showed because of the change in color. I ended up picking up 7 stitches instead of 5 and made sure I went under 2 loops of the stitch so it wasn’t so stretched out. Knitfreedom.com has good video instructions on picking up stitches.
Since I had a different color for the edges, it would have looked better if I made a jagless stripe and slipped the first stitch of the second round. Next time.
