22/4/14: Swatch on size 6s. Too tight, need to go up to size 7, and possibly to size 8 for the rows with lots of stranding.

23/4/14: Ah, the magic of blocking! Swatch has been blocked and no bleeding, yay! Also, it looks like size 6 will be fine for gauge. Once my swatch is dry I will check again and make sure I’ve got gauge across the entire swatch, but it’s looking good for now.

No waist decreases, but hip increases to ensure colourwork doesn’t pull in too much. Switch to size 7 needles for rows 9-18 of colourwork chart.

Added 5 rows to first section of sleeve (before first colourwork section). Will add another 10 rows over the course of the sleeve in the solid sections to compensate for my long arms.

Love this project. Being able to read your knitting and make changes as you go is incredibly helpful for the colourwork chart, as I often changed a stitch here and there to avoid stacking the same colour row after row. But the pattern is straightforward and gets much easier after joining in the round. I had not done a contiguous sweater before, and I enjoyed the learning experience. Not sure if it is the most flattering fit for my shoulders, but we’ll see.
