3/26/2015 - Yarn just arrived today! Super excited to get started!
-
this project is based on a modified “bella’s mittens” pattern. i’ll link the actual pattern, and then show the modifications i’m making. these will be fingerless mitts in two colors, worked flat, and sewn up the side.

really making progress now. started on the gusset for the left hand. gonna add a nice checkerboard pattern. i’m noticing my stitches getting a little tight, so i’ll make sure to loosen for when i block it. super happy with progress, the yarn, and the colors. so soft and squishy! these will be very warm.
3/28/2015 - Left hand gusset is complete - that’s the checkerboard. Starting the mitten top here sometime. Looking forward to finishing up this glove, and seeing where it goes. :)
3/29/2015 - finished all but the thumb gusset on the left glove. sewn the seam. and it looks pretty good!
4/4/2015 - due to work and school, i haven’t been able to work as much on these as i’d have liked, but finally today i have finished the adult sized mitts. tomorrow i will hopefully be able to start and complete the toddler / baby size for australia’s daughter. and then if i am lucky, i will be able to get them into the post office on monday.
4/19/2015 - finished these and packed them yesterday. due to other obligations, these were put on hold until i could manage to get them done. i had to frog the last bit of the first toddler glove and redo it due to some improvements i found while making the second. overall, other than the time it took to finish, i am very pleased with how these turned out, especially for it to be my first improvisation with a pattern, and first size alteration as well.
for the recipient : these will be super soft. what progress i’ve made has been wonderful. the mitts are super cushy, and very soft. there is no worry that these would be too rough for little hands.
