This piece was created as part of a diorama recreation of the Simpsons’ living room. After our office remodel we found ourselves with a long row of extra cubbies that looked strange sitting empty. So the design team was challenged to make dioramas, and this was the theme I chose! It has been such a fun project, and a great stashbuster!

I made this up as I went, using single crochet. Chained 6 to start, then worked my way around a few times adding an extra chain 1 increase at each end. (I’m new to crochet, I don’t know how to crochet-speak)

When I switched to blue I started every other increases, then crocheted a few rounds, adding an increase a each corner on the rounds I wasn’t overall increasing.

As it grew, I moved to crochet 1, chain 1
When I switched to purple, I started doing the corner increases every other round.

(Some of the peach yarn was used for halloween decorations, and hadn’t been counted, so it factored into the total here. It probably took about 1/3 of what it says)
