This is a life-sized hooked rug in the shape of a medium-sized dog.

It is hooked with mostly wool yarn: Lamb’s Pride, Alafoss Lopi, some Churro wool yarn, some Malabrigo worsted, and lots of other yarns. I also used a Cascade baby alpaca yarn and that was a big mistake; the undyed colors were great, but the yarn was so soft and slippery that it was very difficult to hook.

I use a Q-Snap frame and move it around the piece to wherever I’m hooking.

I’ve finished four dog rugs now.
