Notes

July 3rd, 2008 -
What happened was packing away all of the knitting was not such a good idea. I had a day to kill all alone in an empty place before the move (Seattle to Chicago) and there are several wonderful knitting shops I can easily get myself to by bus. I stopped in two the day before the flight. So a purchase was inevitable. No idea what I was gonna knit though, but at the airport I picked up a copy of Creative Knitting and started this up on the plane.

I like the time I’ve had to knit lately, very nice.
It’s coming along quickly. I’m sure I’ll need to track down another ball or two though. Tricky pattern at first but now that I’m into it it’s pretty easy and fun and goes quickly!

July 10th, 2008 -
More yarn in the correct dye lot is on its way! I probably ordered too much…which means I may need to think up another bonsai project…I do love this color though.

July 15th, 2008 - Anh. Dropped a stitch in the lace badly enough it kind of feels like surgery trying to fix it. I’ll fix it…but…it’s annoying. Finished another project I was working on at the same time, wondering if I should resist the urge to start a new project or just go for it. It’s kinda nice to have two projects going at once…

Decided to frog back after trying to fix it several times and got going again on Sept. 19th, 2008.

Finished knitting on Sept. 24th. Ordered a buckle, just have to weave in ends, block and get the buckle on there! I can’t wait! It’s really soft and seems like it will fit just right.

Done! I sewed the buckle on and then decided to redo that cause it could be tighter. It’s a touch loose overall, but not too bad. For now I undid the sewing the buckle on and I’m going to leave it unstitched together for adjustment depending on what I decide to wear it over.

Estimating it took me roughly a month to do this, spread out over 3 months as I put it down for a bit.

April 10th, 2009 I haven’t worn this a lot. It is pretty dressy. I will wear it to the Leonard Cohen Concert next month I think.
