I did a swatch and it looks right-ish. Definitely spot on in st st. and I can never quite tell in ribs.
I can’t remember exactly when I cast on since it was on a brief study break or something.
I knew it was going to be tight to get this done with what I had in my stash, but I’m getting nervous…since I don’t really want to skimp on the sleeves for this, or anything like that, if I need more yarn I’m gonna have to track something down…Other that that it is going well, I’m on the increase row after the first bit of ribbing. For some reason I did a whole row only doing the increases at the beginning and end…then looked at the pictures and thought that doesn’t seem right. Lol. I completely misread the pattern, and it my defense it was right before I went to bed.
I think I might just have enough, but I’m still not sure, keeping my eye on a ball of the right dye lot on ebay. But I think I might just be able to make the sleeves with the ball I have left…I hope so! I don’t think this size is really going to be able to close at my chest, which I’m okay with. Might try to accommodate for that with some kind of button situation, or just leave it be. I’ll have a better idea once I cast off the body.
Oh…tubular cast off. I liked your friend, the tubular cast on. I don’t know what happened. It looks fine, I’m not re-doing it, it just didn’t turn out as clean and nice. but it is a small detail and my sort screwy version still looks finished-ish. Now on to find out if I need another ball to do these sleeves!
I do…hmm.
Well, I stalked a bunch of people with calmer in their stash, asked a few if they’d be willing to part with their ball of the dye lot I needed….wasn’t long before I got tired of that. So I just bought some from an online shop, and hoped that for the wee bit of sleeve I needed to make it would be close enough. I think it was, I can’t tell the difference. YAY! Of course, there was a big gap because of that between the last time I had worked on it and when I finally picked it up again. I felt like I was having some trouble making the sleeves the same length, and then that tubular cast off…had it figured out on the other sleeve I think, turned out so so on this one. But otherwise I’m pretty happy with it! Rowan calmer is so soft and comfy, I love it. I’ve had it in my stash forever! I enjoyed working with it every time I tried something, even when I didn’t succeed. But now I have a garment in it, and it’s just as soft and lovely to wear! I will have to make more stuff with it one day! It rules!
