It is aran weight and 100% wool. I used 8 skeins for the poncho, one for the hat and one for the mittens. It is lovely to work with and gorgeous to wear.

It may seem a bit expensive, the conversion rate makes it about £10 (GBP) for 200g. But when you consider that the Sirdar Click cost me £3.25 for 50g, it is actually a very reasonable price. They also sell on eBay, just search for “Donegal yarn”.

After getting the poncho back from Inside Crochet, I altered the position of the cuffs from dead centre on the sides to just to the front of the sides to make it more comfortable to wear.
