I made a blanket for my 2-year-old grand niece. She loves dogs so, I wanted to make a dog applique for the blanket. I did a search on YouTube and there were a few available. Kerri Brown’s Basset Hound Dog was very similar to my grand niece favorite stuffed dog toy. Plus, her YouTube tutorial was easy to follow. So, I chose to use her pattern.

Since I used a different yarn than Ms. Brown, I had to make some adjustments in order for the dog to look proportionally the same as Ms. Brown’s. The marking on the face and the ears came out longer. So, I just cut back on the row count. I eliminated 3 tr on each left and right side of the face marking, and row 9 (1 row) for the ears.
