This is another version of my Geometric Cape but rather than using the Linen Stitch, I used the C2C stitch. This showed that you can make this Geometric Cape with most stitches that you desire.
Here’s a general pattern:
Begin with ch 88 (or multiple of 7 + 4).
Row 1: 2 dc into the 4th ch from the hook, *sk 3 ch, sl st into the next ch, ch 3, dc in ea of next 3 ch. Repeat from * across the row, ending with dc in ea of the last 3 ch. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 6, dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in ea remaining 2 ch (this is an Increasing block). *Sl st into ch-3 loop, ch 3, 3 dc into the same ch-3 loop. Repeat from * across the row. Turn.
Rows 3-22: Repeat row 2 with increasing blocks at both ends. Approximately 29 cm in length, and 34 blocks across.
Then, continue on without increasing block on both ends. Here’s how:
Row 23 (no increasing): ch 4, 2 dc into the 4th ch from hook, *sl st into ch-3 loop, ch 3, 3 sc into the same ch-3 loop, repeat from * across the row, ending with a sl st into the last ch-3 loop. Do not add 3 dc into the same loop. Turn.
Rows 24-36: Repeat row 23. Approximately 20 cm for no-increasing section.
Make the button loops on the last row. Using hook size 3.5 mm to make the loops; then, change back to hook size 5.0 mm to work the blocks.
Row 37 (last row): Repeat row 23 until 11 blocks are left from the previous row. **Sl st into ch-3 loop, fasten to secure but do not cut off the yarn. Change to hook size 3.0 mm and ch 7 snuggly or as many chains necessary to go through the chosen button (this is a button loop), fasten again and change back to hook 5.0 mm, 3 dc into the same ch-3 loop, *sl st into the next ch-3 loop, ch 3, 3 dc into the same ch-3 loop, repeat from * 1 more time. Then, repeat from ** 3 more times or as many button loops desire. Ending with a sl st into the ch-3 loop of the next to the last block, ch 3, 3 dc into the same ch-3 loop, sl st into the last ch-3 loop. Fasten off, cut yarn.
