Notes

Nowadays in my old age, my hair is getting thinner, and my head often feels cold. I even wear a hat at home.

I had machine knitted 2 hats in the past but they’re getting old. My knitting machines are in storage at the moment so, I decided to crochet some new hats.

The Divine Hat by Sarah Arnold was an easy and quick crochet project. Although at the beginning, I was a bit stuck understanding on the section of “to join each round”. A big helper was the tutorial video by HelenMay Crochet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb8s7uZXv3s.

Thanks Sarah Arnold for the free pattern and thanks HelenMay for the tutorial video.

The gauge using the Lion Brand Scarfie yarn came close to the the gauge called out in the pattern. The hat fit perfectly on me.

The Lion Brand Wool-Ease DK Cake yarn was a bit thinner so, I added 1 more row for the shell pattern and 1 more row for the ribbed band. This lengthen the hat. And to widen the hat, I added a total of 5 dc, evenly spreaded across, to the last rows of the shell pattern (rows 12-17).
