I’ve tried myself on a mouse with my handspun Not perfect but un-felted and unstuffed I’d say it would do.

I’ve not really followed the linked pattern, knitted it the other way round (starting from the face) but with more or less the same increases and decreases. But because I want to felt it I left a hole at the butt end. Once I came to 12 sts I bound off 8 and used the remaining 4 for an I-cord which a let taper out with 3 and then 2 sts.

The ears is handspun too, but a small ball much thinner than the one for the body. I used tiny needles. The body is knitted with an arrangement of 3.25/3.5mm as I couldn’t find 4 of the same size… ;)

I tried to felt it by hand but it seems to take ages. I trough it in the washing machine with a load of clothes at delicates, 30deg… Will see in a couple of hours how much it has felted or if there’s still a hole from where I can stuff it ;)

Yay - our kittens have finally arrived

I tried to get some photos but wanted to use neither flash nor being intrusive, so the quality is not good, there will be plenty of time for that in the next few days and weeks

We have three and for the time being there isn’t much to be done but waiting and giving mum and kittens some time and space…

But in about 8-10 weeks’ time, we will be looking for a forever home and I want to give each of the kittens a blanket and a mouse on their way. Maybe it helps them in the first few days in their new home to have some comforting items they know.

I’m not sure what yarn to use, I have some wool yarns I have not much use for but maybe acrylic is better as it is easier to wash?
