I REALLY like how that came out Especially, I don’t like knitting with ‘thick’ yarn and I didn’t know what to do with the yarn… Love it!

I finally have a use for the Drops Eskimo including my KoolAid experiments! Trying out if dying works with KoolAid and nothing really happens to the wool with being brought nearly to the boil was the only reason for buying that yarn. I had no idea whatsoever what to use it for!

The tree blankets I want to knit for our three kittens give me a chance to use this yarn. I don’t just want to do stripes. I really like quite a few of these patterns with bold geometrics. I’ll give it a go and see how it turns out…

I found another ball of white in addition to the yarns in the bottom photo. I must have discarded some as it’s more like 300g what I have instead of the 500g I bought.

I was trying around with some of the yarn (dragon, basket) and it doesn’t really frog too well. I usually don’t throw yarn away, but I did here.

The two skeined white balls in the picture at the bottom I dyed dark. It didn’t quite turn out black and I didn’t expect it. I used quite a bit of black Wilton food colouring and didn’t want to read up again if I’d need vinegar with it and how much so I threw in 2 packages of KoolAid (orange and black cherry) and a bit of vinegar for good measure… I didn’t quite care much about the outcoming colour as long as it was dark and not an ugly gray. And I’m happy with the colour. It didn’t look much in the two skeins but knitted up I rather like the semisolid effect

Pictures 2 and 3 from the top is as far as it goes with the ‘square in a square’… All leftovers are not enough anymore to knit 4 triangles more. I will now move to stripes and make it rectangular.

Well, it’s done! Bulky yarn is fast but unpleasant to knit for me… but I like my little blanket. It’s soaking in warm water now and I can think about if I want to try to felt it at least some. I’d love to but am not sure if I would mess it up ;)
