Notes

I want to use my Kid Mohair Silk yarn with the Manos del Uruguay lace and thought it might be nice the two balls are centre pull and have a little bag each!

My friend was laughing her head off and things I am somewhat fanatic… Will see how this idea translates into the practical use of my yarn bags. This one is made for the Manos lace which is a much smaller ball.

Steps:

Crochet a base:

I did start each single round with either 3 chains for the double crochets or 1 chain for the single crochets and closed the round. I did not crochet in ‘spirals’.

rd 1: 11 double crochets +1(3 chains)
rd 2: 25 double crochets +1(3 chains)
rd 2: 43 double crochets +1(3 chains)
rd 4: single crochets: crochet 5, crochet 2 in 1sts, that came to 51 sts
rd 5: 51 single crochets in back loop
rd 6: 51 single crochets in back loop
rd 7: into each sts insert hook from back to front, pull yarn through, leave the loop on the hook. transfer looks to dpns

Knitting the tube:

After transfering the sts to the knitting needles I had 52, probably did a loop through the chain for begging the round. Was perfect as it was divideable by 4, the little pattern I wanted to add needed a number divideable by 4.

But as I wanted to decrease some sts in the first round, 51 would have been good as well.

rd 1: yo, skp, yo, skp, k9
rd 2: k3, skp, k8 (reduceing 4 sts)
rd 3: k1, yo, skp, yo, skp, k7
rd 4: knit all
rd 3: k2, yo, skp, yo, skp, k6
rd 4: knit all

This just goes on to the desired height. The eyelet stitches ‘travel’ with each uneven row one stitch to the left. I worked 28 rounds like that.

made an eylet line for the drawstring and a picot edge for the finishing. adding some beads to the drawstring that is an i-cord for the big one and just a crochet chain for the small one
