8-24-2015 Rob and I began this project with a sketch and an idea. This was a mock up of the pattern we put together based on that early sketch and other ideas. He developed as I knit. A lot of tinking and even more frogging. I write ideas and patterns in pencil so that I can easily make modifications, there was a lot of erasing but he is almost done. We just have to work out his face and decide whether he gets to keep the wire in his tail.
We were so caught up in this project it didn’t occur to either of us to take pictures as he developed into himself. Alas the opportunity is lost, but we will take pictures when he’s done.
Used the Bamboo Pop as I had it in my stash, it was a poor choice for all the tinking and frogging as it doesn’t take well to that kind of treatment.
8-31-2015 He finally has a mouth, and dimples. We decided against eyelids and eyebrows. I wanted to give him a long, strange mustache but that got vetoed in a flash. Anyway his odd self is finished, I think. More later if I am wrong. Pictures soon. My husband, Jim, says he looks like an old, wise creature from …….
9-4 Finally finished in every detail. Rob added some metallic thread to his hair and a few other details and pronounced him finished
