I’m making this as a present for a friend who is very unwell at the moment. I figured a shawl was the closest thing to a hug that I could mail across the continents.

I had to re-make the first 10 rows tonight Grrrrr. I got to the top of the first pineapples and realised that I had one more loop than I should have :o( It croched up much more quickly the second time as I now have a better understanding of the pattern. So what took me all day to do the first time, was back up to where I left off in a little under 2 hours.

I repeated rounds 14-20 to add an extra set of pineapples, working the extra increase shells (3 one each sideand one at the bottom) over the top of the pineapple below.

Somehow I missed a fan off the middle of the back :o( I don’t think my friend will notice but I’m mad at myself for loosing interest the last 10 or so rounds and not reading the pattern properly.
I think its partly down to all the repeats within a repeat in the pattern, makes it difficult to read and to take in. I just don’t have to heart, not to mention the time to rip it back.
The last round of scallops really wasn’t much fun.

Other than the missed fan I’m reasonably pleased with how it tured out. I’ll probably make it again someday, just not anytime soon!
