Do yourself a favor - practice this lace edging a few times. It is easy to mess up.

My first lace weight project -KAL with friends (became a knit-a-lone real quick)

Things I have learned about lace weight:
you need sharp smooth tips - three needles later- i have settled on Signatures as best. Since my yarn is dark - I love the silver tips. I can see the stitches better.
it takes more patience and attention than even the thinnest fingering.

MODS: switched to K2tbl instead SSK - easier to handle
Changed to CDD (center double decrease) for spine instead of s1 k2tog psso. looked better and centered.

it’s hard to knit back or drop down. i have frogged swatch three times. Finally got the hang of it after 9 tries.

Progress Notes:
6/13 - cast on and practiced
6/18 - 36 repeats of lace edging done
6/19 - Finished Lace edging
6/20 - finished garter section and began rock island. Do yourself a favor and put in a life line before starting rock island chart. Long long chart -easy to mess up. Check your stitches often.
6/22 - attempt #2 at rock island chart sigh
6/24 - third times the charm - finally got past row 6 so think I have it now.
6/29 - finished the #$%& rock island chart. Phew.
7/3 - done - preblocked 37”x18”
