I saw the blues and browns Sea Turtle rug pattern and posted a pic on Facebook about it and said “I will surely make this in the future.
Minutes after my post a lady who bought some crochet hats for Christmas requested I make her a pink one for her baby girl AnnaBella who is due in April 2013.

I’m having trouble with the fins, but sent a note to the designer….I’m not sure why I’m feeling lost on this part, but I’m close to trying to design my own fins. Everything has been pretty easy to figure out so far, but I’m spending way too much time on the fins and that is all I have left to do, besides stuff them and sew them on.

I am still working on the fins, but with a much better understanding now, thanks to some of the sweet women who have made the Sea Turtle Rug before and to spending hours trying to figure it out.
The message that explained best how to do the fins from where I was stuck at was from: karkulka (Thanks again!!)
Crochet to round 5 and after continue according to pattern in short rows. Rnd 6 u must begin in first ch of the rnd 5 and continue 48 sc along two sides the fin to the last sc of rnd5. There will be 24sc on one side and 24 on the other side….after continue with the next rnds along the fin. I hope my description is clear and helpful.
I will post pics of a fin and how it looks as it’s being worked, once I start on my second fin.
The pattern is a bit difficult to understand and I have a few places I messed up on the rug, but I didn’t want to unravel the rug after all that work and the lady who is buying the rug is going to use it more as a play mat for her baby girl who is due in April 2013.
Thanks to everyone for taking time to try and help me through my massive confusion!! Seems like a great community of yarn artists on this site!
I highly suggest to anyone having trouble with a pattern to contact the pattern designer and others who have made it…..everyone I’ve spoken to has been very kind and helpful….those are sometimes hard things to find in people now days.
