Wanted a relaxing project using DK weight yarn. Doing this single-stranded; the baby alpaca has its own halo, is soft as an Entenmann’s powdered sugar donut, and already knits to gauge.
I like the simple elegance of this pattern and hope I manage the German Short Rows. It will be my first attempt at such.

I am still here, slowly but surely working on this project. I don’t get a lot of knitting time, so it’s only about 9” tall at this point, but I’m enjoying it. Nice to have a break from the constant tension of counting and keeping track of which row you are on, etc. The yarn is soft and lovely, too. I’m just coming to the end of my second skein.

Just finished my third skein, and the project is about 14 inches tall at this point.

Just finished my fourth skein. Up to about 17 or 18 inches tall.

Around 19” with just a light tug. I only manage about two rows a day (< 1/2”?), and I took November off for NaNoWriMo.

It’s 24-25” now.

Hardly ever get a chance to knit these days. The back is now around 27” long -- wondering if I should stick to the length suggested in the pattern or go a little longer. I will look at others’ project notes.
(Guessing I’ve used about 6 skeins. Lost track a while back, and I don’t feel like digging through my alpaca box to see how many are left.)
