Notes

3/2/12: I’ve never felted anything before and this was too awesome to pass up. Destashing some wool. So far a quick and easy knit.

3/3/12: The finished dimensions were 13 x 7” for the bottom, 22” tall. In the wash now.

3/4/12: Felted gorgeously after ONE wash! So happy with this bag!! Finished product 11 x 5 x 14”. LOVE. Will be using satin ribbon as handles.

3/18/12: Just completed a second tote in New Denim and Aran Tweed to send to a friend in Tasmania. This is definitely my favorite tote pattern so far.

07/29/12: Making three for Christmas.

08/13/12: Two complete - the felting of the second (in moss heather and chestnut tweed) resulted in what looked like a freaking MUPPET coming out of my washing machine. I literally had to SHAVE it. As in I went to Target and bought cheap disposable razors to shave off the fake fur look that it had to it. It now looks presentably felted. I’m only sorry that I didn’t take a picture before I shaved it. Seriously people. WTH. The third is almost 50% done. I’ll take a picture of the three together. May have to rename this project The Great Muppet Shaving.

11/02/12: All are done and awaiting handles and notions. I am making matching Vancouver Fog fingerless mitts to go along with them since I had contrasting wool left over. I’m making them extra long and then adding an extra long 20-row 2x2 for the fingers, adding a button and button hole so they can be flipped up for warmth and buttoned-downed when not needed. Refer to the Vancouver Fog pattern for pics.
