Awesome pattern. I did the first five rows of the top band in stockinette, the last three in garter. For the strap, I modified it so that the ten stitches graduate down to an I-cord strap Kitchenered on the other side. I think it makes a much cleaner looking and sturdier strap.

11/21/12: Finished the first one over the summer (during the Olympics) and now doing three more for Christmas knitting. The one finished above will be a birthday present - delivering it tomorrow (the birthday girl is having me over for Thanksgiving dinner and I won’t see her for her birthday 12/12). Using leftover Lily Sugar’n Cream to make striped bags in favorite colors.

05/14/13: Now that I’ve made one for everyone else, I finally made one for me in the Berocco Linsey I bought for just this purpose in July 2012. I added random beads to the netting section just for fun.
