I added an extra set of stitch markers in the centre edging pattern isolating the four stitches after the increases/decreases in the ribbing portion, as they stay the same throughout the pattern (with the exception of Row 35). It made it a lot easier for me to read the chart and knit without referring to the chart so often. (See 2nd from last photo.)

MODS:
I wanted to add length (and a bit of width) to the pattern. I also did not want to disrupt the scalloped edging or the number of scallops. So… after the first half of the short rows, I proceeded to insert a panel of sorts, comprised of 68 additional rows. In order to not change the number of scallops I ommited the details from row 25-34, instead working the 12 markered rows in the established 1x1 rib and garter. After row 34 (the center of the short rows) I started working complete rows and continued to increase the center scallop (essentially repeating rows 3-34). When I got to the second row 25 I started the details and did the cable at row “34”. Then I started decreasing the scallop. When I get to row 68, I will do a second round of row 34-68, incorporating the second half of the short rows. Essentially the middle scallop will be twice as big as the others.

FIXES:
I ran out of my one (!) skein of tosh merino light when I had finished the last scallop repeat and was about to start the end chart. I let it rest that night and then in the morning ripped out about 30 rows and knit at a tighter gauge, eventually switching to a size US 1 needle to knit even tighter. I miraculously found about 5 more yards of the yarn in my project bag and spit spliced the extra to the working yarn. I still had to mod the end chart by decreasing every row. However, the ends have the same shape, if they are not the exact same size. I don’t think it is too noticable after blocking.
