Notes

Originally inspired by Langstroth, Sr. by Elizabeth Green Musselman. My husband picked it out himself, out of a ravelry search. While swatching for this sweater, I happened upon a copy of Mary Thomas’s Book of Knitting Patterns, and my world changed! I modified the honeycomb pattern provided in the the Langstroth pattern to more closely match the one in Mary Thomas’s book, with a couple tweaks of my own.

Knitting the sleeves two at a time on two circulars.

For the yoke, I used EZ’s Seamless Set-in Sleeves, with an in or two of garter at the top. Top of shoulders were seamed with three-needle bind-off. Did that for the underarms as well. Looks smart.

Vest

In 2023 I removed the sleeves and made this a sweater vest. Then I made a mini version for our son!
