Modifications: Used pearl beads instead of nupps. Bound off one row early using k2, k2tog and only one strand because I was worried about yardage.

Sizing: 12 repeats of Yucca chart, 2 repeats of agave chart, and 1 repeat of everything else.

I decided to overdye this project (my first time doing so) because I realized that the original color, while pretty, was not suited to my skin tone or my wardrobe. I used Dylon Ocean Blue. I was aiming for a deep blue color but I ended up with a deep purple. Also, one ball of yarn absorbed the color differently and there is a distrinct change. I still like it, especially as it changes along the pattern change.

I don’t know if I could bring myself to do this pattern again because of all the beads. Gosh, that moved slow! On the other hand, it is beautiful and I’m glad I did it.

This project won fourth place in the shawl category at the 2014 Weld county fair.
