Absolutely love the way the way the pattern is working up and the yarn is so soft i cannot wait to wear it. However, after making about two thirds of one mitt i realised that these mitts are not going to fit and certainly not going to be slouchy! So frogged to start again. Going up a hook size and adding extra stitches to width.

To make mitts fit I have started off with a 5mm hook and made 41 chain - this gives me 40 stitches at the end of row 2 and adds two extra bobbles to the width. After five repeats of pattern change down to 4mm hook. When it comes to thumb shaping just add one extra pattern repeat either side of thumb space.

My tension is now spot on using 5mm hook but extra width still needed for slouchiness (pattern model must have very thin arms!)

Despite what my project dates might say these mitts are actually a super speedy project. The first one was done whilst on holiday back in early May, the second on a lazy Sunday…
Really pleased with my warm cosy mitts and looking forward to testing them out on our camping trip next week!
