The addiction begins. I can’t stop making these little circles.
I intend to experiment with making some of the centres glittery. My Daughter wants it pinks and bling so I am trying to oblige. She did buy a bright flourescent pink which I have tried and rejected as way too bright!
Later we will have to decide whether to have the colours forming a pattern, i.e. diagonals of shades or have it totally random.
18/04/2012 - I was wondering about blocking. It’s acrylic so I think I probably don’t need to. I know some people steam block acrylic. I’ll decide once they are all chrocheted together with the white but I am 80% certain I won’t bother.
20/04/2012 - I’ve probably got enough now (120) for a throw but as I have just ordered some more yarn I suppose I am guessing it is to be a bed cover. I just love making the little circles. My enthusiasm might drop when it come to crocheting them all together with the white but I hope not. Glad I’ve dealt with the tails as I have gone along.
6th May 2012 - Getting carried away and have been creating 3d flower circles to include here and there.
My normally very tidy table had a few circles on it and suddenly everyone is plonking crafting items on it or parking themselves on it for a snooze.
My Daughter decided she wanted it double bed sized so I think I need 378 circles, to allow for overhang. I’m not really very confident that I’ve calculated it right but I’ll be laying them out on a double sheet, with roughly the right spacing, to play with the layout before crocheting them together. If I have too many, well she’ll have some cushions as well.
Easter 2013 - Nearing completion. I still have a few flowers to attach, mainly to cover any circles I don’t like, and still to decide on a border.
I was asked by a lady over at The Creative Crochet Crew Group to make a video of how I join the squares.
