13th January 2016 - first attempt two main mistakes - not noticing when to be on WS and made a mess of the first ribbon. Realised that when this pattern was written the adjustable magic ring probably wasn’t in use. I made the ribbon using an adjustable centre and it looked a lot better. Did the same with the octagons but not drawing it fully closed.
I might give some thought to how to join as you go instead if the dreaded sewing together.

9th Feb 2016 - I’ve not been working on this because I have orders to finish but I decided that if I at least make a motif now and again I could have a small throw made by Christmas. So, I made another octagon today and I followed the instruction to actually tack down the ends of the red ribbon shape. Although this makes a lot of practical sense, I prefer the look of it not tacked down. I haven’t photographed it yet.
