I love the color of the Wollmeise. It’s so INTENSE!
The cardigan kind of keeps growing. The sleeves were 3/4 lenght when I bound off. Now they are full length - and what was supposed to be a bolero is now a short cardigan.
Finished! In time for me to get a good nights sleep before the wedding party ;o)
The cardi grew quite a lot when I washed and flat dried it. Not too bad, though, but I must remember next time I use Wollmeise for a project. But the colour… So many compliments :o)
I chose to pick up stitches along the edges, and knit the lace edge on (SSK the last stitch of the lace pattern with the stitch picked up), rather than sewing it on afterwards. So easy. The edging pattern took quite a long time to knit, though. Much longer than expected.
March 1st. Slow progress. Too slow, perhaps. Had to unravel two half done sleeves. They were too wide (due to my attempt to knit them top down rather than bottom-up as the pattern dictated. Have to put the amount of yarn to full use..)
However… I got a copy of the lacepattern today - and now have a weekend + a few evenings to knit two sleeves and the edging… Cutting it close.
Have to pick up packet of yarn at the post office today. Hope the colours are quite similar to my current lot!
February 22nd. Yippie! I got my hands on another two skeins of Wollmeise - so now I have enough of this amazing yarn for my project. The colour is just so rich.
Still waiting for the book to arrive. Have cast on using this Drops pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/95-17-bolero-card...
for the basic Shrug - and will use the pattern for the lace edging, when I get the book.
I am in quite a hurry, since I plan to wear this at my brothers wedding on march 9th this year. That gives me just a little more than two weeks to finish this project.
