Notes

  • Used US 2 needle for garter tab, US 4 for body,US 5 for BO.

  • Carried yarns up the side by trapping them (like a colorwork float) on the second stitch of the RS rows.

  • Tried this bobble tip posted by 1957karenh and loved it: I’m happy to share the trick my Grandma taught me over 40 years ago…You work the bobble row as instructed in the pattern, the trick is on the purl (WS) row. (WS) Pattern up to the stitch where you did the “bobble” in the previous row. Before working this stitch, pickup one “leg” of the stitch below and place it on your left needle. The stitch below is the original stitch in which you made the bobble, not any of the bobble threads. Then purl both this picked up stitch (leg) and the next stitch together. Repeat the above for every bobble stitch along the row. This closes the bobble at the back, therefore not allowing any poking through. Also, in my experience, doing this method has never caused any puckering etc.

  • Worked triangle chart 5 times (131 sts on each side), quatrefoil eyelet chart 3 times, mosaic chart 4 times, cables chart 2.75 times, rain drops chart 3.5 times, and ribbing 35 rows.

  • If I were to make this again, I would try a larger needle size for the cable sections (difficult to block due to tighter gauge) and smaller needle size for the ribbing (was a tad wavy).
