Used a lightly speckled yarn for the cables & lace panel with a variegated yarn for the increasing/garter stitch side of the shawl and connected them with intarsia. I love the aesthetic of this shawl, but am dissatisfied with its shape; it is very deep. I encountered a short wingspan, like others, and added additional chart repeats. In hindsight, I should have added additional double increase segment repeats instead. I wish the designer could have included a chart for the cable/lace pattern during its increase phase.

Unblocked gauge: 29 sts and 32 rows per 4” in cable/lace pattern.

Measurements
After 7th chart repeat: wing span=33”, depth=18”
Decided to work additional repeats.
After 10th chart repeat: wing span=45”, depth=23”
After 2 extra double increases: wingspan=60”; depth=29”
On blocking wires: wingspan=72’’, depth=31’’
Final: wingspan=71”, depth=29”

• beginning wt: mossy rocks=228g; bayou2023=222g; bayou2024=113g
• after 10th chart repeat: mossy rocks=104g; bayou2023=86g
• after 4 double increase segments: mossy rocks=74g; bayou2023=0g; bayou2024=104g

If I had to do this over again I would have repeated the double increases section instead of the chart repeats section to add additional wing span.
