Notes

This project was a reminder that just because you really like a yarn and really like a pattern, doesn’t mean you should pair them. The multi-colored yarn with the textured pattern was too much. In addition, the weight of the scarf caused the stitches of this superwash wool to stretch. The scarf length was 68” immediately after binding off and stretched to 73” while photographing it. (I did not block between BO and photographing.)

Knitting this project was a delight. It was a less complicated project I had going on with Fox Paws. My method: CO 34 sts with cable cast on. Worked pattern repeat with selvedged edges to 68”. BO using k2tog tbl method and US 3 needles. I loved the texture of this scarf upon completion. I would love to knit it again using tonal-colored yarn.

This scarf looked fairly finished without washing/blocking. It was so soft, warm, and felt clean. I fully credit the yarn. Despite my pattern/yarn pairing disappointment, I wore this scarf more than any other during the winter of 2019.

June 2019: Washed and blocked scarf for first time before placing in summer storage. Wash water was crystal clear; no dirt, no dye transfer.
