Progress Notes
- I wanted a black, but not boring, shawl; aimed for subtle contrast.
- CO and worked first 4 rows with US 6 needles. Worked remaining garter stripes with US 7.
- I read on other project pages that once you reach the stitch count of 117, multiples of 8 stitches can be added to garter section to increase shawl size. I increased garter section of shawl to 125 sts, then added lifeline.
- First few rows of brioche looked loose and sloppy. Ripped back to lifeline and switched to US 6 needles. Looked better.
- I think I unintentionally omitted a brioche repeat. The brioche section of my shawl looks shorter compared to other FOs.
- I wish Mowry could have identified the name of the bind off used in the pattern. It would have made searching for a supporting video easier. I wish this pattern could have incorporated charts too. Overall, this is a nice design and was an enjoyable project.
