Yarn weight listed as Aaran by yarn manufacturer, but is worsted weight IMO.
Originally intended to make another Gratitude hat, but did not CO a multiple of 8 sts.
German twisted CO 133 sts, but adjusted to 132 after this joining method.
Worked 4” of 2x2 rib
Worked a motif from p. 63 of Alice Starmore’s Charts For Color Knitting until body reached 4”. Divided 132/4 and placed markers every 33 sts. Continued pattern and (k1, k2tog, k until 3 sts remain, ssk, k1) between markers.
The crown decreases did not look all that great. The hat body stitch count accommodated 11 pattern repeats. The decreases might have looked better if the number of pattern repeats were divisible by 4 and if I had used the darker yarn for all K1s immediately before and after the markers.
The hat had a size S/M fit before blocking and a size M/L fit after blocking. I forgot how much this yarn grew during the blocking process. No worries, I like loose fitting hats.
