This isn’t really the Titan top as listed in Doris Chan’s book, but it was my starting point. I wanted to make a tank top and used that as my inspiration.

Going off on my own to make this tank was incredibly satisfying! What fun to figure out which shapes to fit where to form a top. I think this is what Chan intended when she wrote this book and after this project I finally really “get it”.

I’m posting the pattern of shapes as I used them here but to get the motifs themselves see Convertible Crochet. I used the “major” versions of all motifs, for a smaller size you’d use “minor” versions. As I made it it’s quite large: 10” across the neck, 10” armhole, 26” from neck to bottom.

Because I was making up the pattern as I went I didn’t join everything as I went correctly, but I’m sure it could be done. I used two O-rings to join the top at the shoulders and like how that turned out. If I try this again I think I’ll attempt the bottom of the original Titan Top… we’ll see!

This Eucalyptus yarn is incredibly drapey and soft, I highly recommend it.
