modifying the neck using a couple of different ideas from other knitters (as I have read it is too loose):

-Used the cable cast on with size 6 needles and then knit the first two rows. On the third row switched over to size 7 needles.
- I also only cast on 102 sts (instead of the …specified).

The two short rows were worked as follows:
RS: k 81, wrap next stitch and turn
WS: k 60, wrap next stitch and turn
RS: k to end (and unwrap the wrapped stitch)
WS: k to end (and unwrap the wrapped stitch)

In the next row the increases begin:
k20, M1R, k2, M1L
k8, M1R, k2, M1L
k38, M1R, k2, M1L
k8, M1R, k2, M1L
k 16, BO 2 sts (the bottonhole), k2

next row: k2, co 2 using the backwards loop method, knit to end.

Repeat these last two rows (minus bottonhole) until you have the desired number of stitches.

Knit to 12” before leaf motif

for the sleeves i slowly decreased to 52 stitches for my 11 year old’s arms and knit to 17”
