Notes

Using twisted german cast on - since knitting the Rikke hat I prefer this cast on for its just the right amount of flexibility, making it perfectly suitable for starting garter stitch projects. Casting on 88 sts with 3,5mm needles. After the brim and ONLY AFTER the increases I switched to 4 mm needles. Otherwise followed the pattern to the “t”. Great pattern as it can be expected from Wooly Wormhead.

My first finished project of the new year, yea! It took the hat more than a day to dry, but a washing and blocking is worth it, the decreases are much nicer this way. I still have to weave in the ends, then my very girly, drama queen little daughter can finally wear her Queenie hat. She has been watching me knitting it and could hardly wait to see it done.

The hat is a big success with my girl, I still need to take pictures though of her wearing it.
