Finished, but then I just never wore it. It’s a lovely pattern so maybe I need to look at changing the bits that didn’t work for me (it was a little too short and I wasn’t liking how the sleeves ended up stretching out). Made me sad unravelling this project. :( (now stored in Bin Q)

OH EXCITEMENT! I started the sleeves last night, and so far so good. The way they attach to the body is genius. I am hoping to avoid that little patch of ss under the sleeve, since I removed it from the sides of the sweater. I have knit the body to a close approximation of where I want the finished length. Will now add sleeves to see how that changes the fit, then will finish off the body. I am knitting my sleeves as 3/4 length.

It’s good that I took so long to get to the point I’m at. After trying it on yet again, I ended up leaving off the 3 “extra” stitches on each side, which means my lace has no stocking stitch part in the midsection and it fits me better. I’ve knit the lace section longer than the requirement for my size, I wanted the lace to get past the girls before I began the stocking stitch. Speaking of which, I am only doing reverse SS for the front piece, the rest will NOT be reversed. Flying thru this now, I like how it’s looking!

Grr. Arg. Ripped back to the armholes YET AGAIN. Apparently this pattern and I are locking horns in a battle of wits. Hubby keeps telling me to put it down and work on a different project, but honestly, I think if I put it down I will never pick it up again.

Apparently in the heat my head just couldn’t reverse engineer anything, so I put this down for a few days. Picked up yesterday, almost done the body lace and about to start the reverse stockinette section. Contemplating doing only the front edge in the reverse, and the sides/back in ss.

Three time I began the collar piece bass-ackwards. Three times I ripped. Fourth time was the charm. Apparently my brain thinks in reverse a lot these days.
Actually did my gauge swatch with the gray yarn because I have way more of it. HOWEVER, that being said - the gray seems a little “cushier” than the Ocean. Or maybe it’s just my imagination…
Classic Elite DK, one bag of colour 21, Ocean (blue green). I need 1300 yds for a size 42, which gives me about an inch of positive ease, but the next size down is a 38 which would be a little too much on the negative side for this style of sweater (I think). Besides, I’m not about to start playing with the numbers on this one as it’s all my brain can do just to figure out the collar attachment. The rest should be a walk in the park! Right? Hopefully.
Plan is for 3/4 length sleeves (just past the elbow) instead of long sleeves.
Favourite provisional cast on: Lucy Neatby’s from youtube.
