Notes

24-12-2018

This is the third Tolt Hat I’ve made and by far my favourite! This time I used 3 colours, inspired by ImScott’s version.

Kaiti requested I make a Tolt Hat for Mike out of the same yarn I used for hers, as he liked the softer yarn as opposed to the Lopi yarns they’d seen in Iceland. This is the third hat I’ve knitted with this pattern (second time with Cascade Superwash Aran), and I’m thrilled with the finished product.

I carried the yarn differently across the back this time which made a huge difference both during the knitting and in the finished product. I also concentrated on keeping less of a “death-grip” on the needles, which is always an issue for me with colourwork. Went to a 4.5mm (knitpicks) for the body instead of 4.0, which also seemed to help with my tension.

This is one of my favourite hat patterns by far!
