My first thought when I saw this pattern was that I loved the soft colours the designer had combined in her cowl. My second thought was how I pretty much never wear stripes. To get around this I decided to use two colours with a low contrast (photos are reading lighter than the yarn actually is) and found the perfect combination when these two skeins turned up in the wrong bin while I was hunting my stash for a different project!
The pattern is a breeze, and SweetGeorgia yarn (as always) is lovely to knit with!
Long-tail cast on with 4.5mm needle, switched to 4mm for ribbing. Because it’s just a cowl and fit wasn’t a huge issue I did not swatch but started the lace part with a 5mm needle. Two stripes in I was having issues with the beginning/end of round (trying to make it look seamless but finally gave up) - tinked back to the ribbing and switched to a 4.5mm. Happier with the drape, as this yarn is on the finer side of being a dk weight. Originally cast off with a 5 mm, found that too tight and went up to a 6 mm. In hindsight, should have gone up to even a 7mm, as my cast off is always tight.

Planning a non-striped version next because I really do hate weaving in ends!
