I finally got my léttlopi yarn today, hooray! The heathers are a beautiful colors. I am glad I got the spring Heather and the rust Heather.
Still haven’t figured out how I’ll make this, pullover or cardigan. After seeing the léttlopi, I’m leaning towards a cardigan. The TX cold isn’t all that cold…
So yarn is together, have to pull out the needles and then cast on….

Started up the first sleeve, going slow since I am working on other projects and final two weeks of pregnancy leave me feeling blah most of the time…

at just about the 6th increase of the sleeve…

72 stitches on the sleeve now, working on getting the length..

started the second sleeve, not finished with the first one, but wanted to get them both on the same needle (magic loop style). This way they will be the same length one it gets time to start the yoke.

Finished both sleeves and cast on for the body. 208 + 7 for the steek.

I messed up in the Colorwork again. But it matches the one sleeve, so that’s fine. What I did was instead of 3 one color, 5 the next, I did 3 of each color in the first round which sets the pattern off differently.
Waist shaping: 8 1/2” in, work 4 decreases in back panel area only, knit 5 rows on 6th row work 4 decreases. At 11”, decrease 4 more stitches. Knit two rounds and in third then start the increases at same interval the decreases were at. Continue with body until it is 18 1/4”.

Joined the sleeves and body. Following some suggestions from others, I added some short rows at row 3 and 6. Unsure if I will add more later, I figure with the few I added it might be enough. I’ll wait and see how the collar ends up turning out.

On row 25 of the yoke pattern and looking at how it lays, I’m thinking my short rows should have been broader. Instead of being 5 stitches apart I’m think every 10 or even 15 might have been better. There is a slight bulge where I did the increases. Once the yoke is finished I’ll see how it looks. I’m hoping that once the yoke is done it will pull the back up…

Somehow I ended up with 72 stitches instead of 80. Ahh well, had to start the 3rd ball of Rust Heather to start the collar. Go figure. But I’m excited about the fit so far. I tried it on to see how the sweater was going and it looks like the waist shaping was spot on. It isn’t boxy or tight. One inch done on the collar so far

finished with an I-cord bind off at the neck, sewed in all loose ends and am working on the steek now… maybe I can get it done in time to take it to the store and look for a zipper. Will Attach a I-cord to the steek edges.

So overall notes so far. My sewing skills aren’t the greatest, but I managed to get the zipper in. I do see some puckering, but I don’t mind, it’s really minor and I wanted a cardigan so I could wear it open more often anyways. The zipper is 30” and I might resew the top edge on one side to realign then, but I am satisfied with it right now.
For my first large sweater, first lettlopi, first zipped cardigan, I think it came out extremely well. I’m already looking at other projects, lol.
