Notes

The blue starfish is the one I made by just using the pattern, as you can see it turned out wonky and bumpy and the middle is just plain ugly.

The multicoloured one was made using alterations.

I used a magic ring for starting the project with 10 sc in the loop.

I would make a leg then join back to the circle using a slip stitch on every second sc ending that leg.

I did not start where it said to start, I started at the end of a leg where you do the double crochet and chain 3’s. I put markers in the ends and markers down near the center where I do the draw thru the loops 5 times and so on.

This way everything started and ended where is should have.

I also did not skip a stitch then do 3 double crochet, I did a double crochet in that stitch then only 2 in the next. Worked out well.

The border is reverse sc

For me this pattern took more time then expected because I like my starfish to be symmetrical and the only way to make sure and make it quicker was to use the markers instead of counting all the time.
