Notes

Loving the colours and how quick this works up.

I changed the pattern a bit, so there are no holes in the work. I wanted a solid crochet very warm and snuggly blanket and it’s turning out great.

When I do the 1/2, double and triple crochet parts I go thru the previous 1/2, double or triple crochet and then pick up a loop thus connecting all of the chains. when I do the triple crochet for the first one I yarn over and the secone one I pick up 2 loops. Eliminating the holes in the work. I don’t know what this is called but it looks GREAT!

Picture number 4 the smaller crochet hook is thru the loop on the 1/2 or double crochet that I would pick up a loop thru.

Picture number 5 is the triple crochet with the smaller crochet hook then the 2 loops that I would pick up a loop each thru.

For the cream coloured row in the pattern it is 2 rows I decreased it to one row, as I wanted less cream colour.

When I am working the rows I work in the front loops of every row except between the two grey coloured rows. The reason being because I am only doing one cream coloured row I want the cream colour to be equal on both sides of the afghan and this is just how I figured it out to work. You would think that the blanket would be bumpy but it actually is very flat and I have not even blocked it.

The other thing I do differently is I have 3 balls of yarn attached and just carry them up the sides and by doing this I drastically decrease the amount of tails to weave in and when I reach the end of a row with one ball I just switch to the next and keep going. But this only works because I am only doing one cream coloured row. If you were staying with the patten for 2 rows it would not work.

This yarn is also very nice to work with so far, no stretching or breaking apart and very soft to the touch.

I would turn the last 2 pictures the right way up… but I can’t figure it out… sorry… :(
