The last thing I need is to start another project, particularly another large project like a blanket. But guess what - that’s exactly what I’m doing!
Yesterday I bought a mosaic Christmas-themed pattern I’ve been eyeing and decided to go to a nearby Michaels to get some worsted weight acrylic yarn in traditional Christmas colors. The yarn was on sale - buy 2, get 3rd free - and I found colors I liked in Red Heart Super Saver (except not White, had to get a brand new to me). I got home & swatched but couldn’t get the mosaic pattern to work - worsted weight too heavy. So I found this free pattern on The Crochet Crowd website, it’s designed for worsted. I have one more color than it calls for but think it will look ok with 4 colors instead of 3 colors.
So far, I’m pleased with pattern & how yarn is working with it.

I’m hibernating this now in its own private banker’s box! I just finished round 35 and will pick it up for Christmas 2022.

I was going to frog this one - because I really don’t want to work on another huge project right now. But when I brought it out of storage, I saw it was a little bigger than I remembered plus I’ve been weaving in yarn ends as I go. I don’t want to continue on with the pattern - it’s lovely & well-written - but I am just not in the mood to read a pattern & change color every row. So instead I’m going to finish by doing a seed/moss stitch around the whole thing. I’ll just work a color till I’m tired of it (or run out) & then switch to another color. I think I’ll still have yarn left over to donate to local charity.

I decided yesterday that this was finished. It’s a very small throw, doesn’t really qualify as a blanket. Right now it’s a backdrop for Christmas Bear; I’m not sure if I’ll keep it after the holidays or find a place to donate it. I do have lots of leftover yarn to donate - a skein plus partial skein of all four colors.
